MASTER THE MIND, EMPOWER THE KIND-

MENTAL HEALTH

  • Work has existed for centuries, you would think that by now, people would have already figured out how to achieve work-life balance. Unfortunately, despite all the technological advancements and other developments in the work process worldwide– the answer to a well-balanced life has yet to emerge. The business world is fast-paced, which is why working people have a harder time achieving work-life balance. For instance, due to the financial pressure of a fast-paced industry, employers would expect more from their staff. The weight of reaching a specific result would force employees to work more hours than they should.

You have to admit that you are not working late hours in your office out of the goodness of your heart. Most of the time, you do extra hours for extra pay, due to workplace culture or due to feeling obliged to put in more hours.

Up until now, work-life balance is still a topic of debate. Is it really possible to achieve it? It takes a bit of getting used to and sometimes you may not be able to follow the routine at all times. But you will never know if you can do it unless you try. Not convinced? Maybe Self-help Speaker Jahan Kalantar can help you.

  • Many believe that working hard and going the extra mile is going to get them far. This mindset is not wrong. Seeing a lot of people succeed by sticking to a long-term plan will convince you that if you work twice as hard and take incredible risks, then you will get there faster. Although this strategy can get you far in the first few months or years, it is not a sustainable plan. This kind of thinking will, slowly but surely, burn you out.

You need drive, discipline, and courage to be a successful entrepreneur, but you also need to maintain a healthy business mindset. You need to understand the difference between pushing yourself to the limits and pushing yourself to the brink of exhaustion. If your business grows faster than you can handle, you will lose your balance and problems will arise. Developing a healthy business mindset allows you to be compassionate about other people and yourself, and it stops you from seeing every action as a challenge to overcome. Improving your mindset will also help you eliminate any form of negative mentalities that prevent you from reaching your full potential. Let Self-help and mental health Speaker Jahan Kalantar show you the way.

  • People process things in their own way. How about success? Some handle success with humility and grace, while some let it get to their head. There is nothing wrong with feeling proud about what you have achieved and how far you have come, but there is such a thing as ‘too much.’ There is a difference between simply being proud versus letting your success get to your head. If you are pushing aside your friends and colleagues who have been with you on your journey to success, then you are not heading in a good direction. Succeeding in life should help you see that there is still so much to learn and that you need to make good connections. It is not only about you.

Letting success get into your head can lead you to abandon the values and principles that put you where you are. Remember that success is an ongoing journey; it is not a one-time thing. You should stop feeding your ego by surrounding yourself with people who only ever say yes to you; this will stunt your growth, keep in mind that even experts have endless room to grow. You want to learn more about dealing with success the right way? Self-help speaker Jahan Kalantar knows what to do.

  • A little healthy competition can inspire you to improve and be a better version of yourself. However, being a bit too competitive can be counterproductive in the long run. Everyone needs a positive environment to bloom and flourish in their respective fields, and this needs to start from within. When someone becomes too competitive, they tend to develop negative mindsets and habits, which is a form of self-sabotage. When an individual is too competitive, they tend to compare themselves to other people a lot. This habit can cultivate a culture of envy, and it can develop into a negative outlook in life.

Constantly sizing up the competition is not a healthy habit. This encourages you to determine your self-worth through a comparative lens. This moment is when you compare your trial and error stage with someone else’s highlight reel. You don’t need to completely ignore what your competitor is doing, but you have to stop comparing. Great things can happen when people move from a place of innovation instead of playing chase with their competition. It is easy to lose sight that the ultimate goal should be self-improvement when your eyes are on the competition. Let Self-help and mental health keynote speaker Jahan Kalantar remind you where you should be going.

  • Goals are necessary for people to be able to create a cohesive plan for their personal success. Even in job interviews, applicants are asked what they see themselves doing in three or five years, it helps the hiring officer see if the applicant’s goals are in line with the company’s intentions. Setting a goal can help you decide your focus, milestones, and direction. In turn, milestones provide you with benchmarks that help you determine how far you have gone or if you are even still on the right track. For instance, you can consider having one million dollars in your name as a success if your goal is to have a lot of money. However, if your goal is to help people through charity, then keeping the money in your bank is not the way to go.

There are different ways to set a goal, everyone does this in their own way. Although there is no right or wrong method in setting a goal, some approaches may be unhealthy. For example, if you set an unrealistic goal, then you might end up getting discouraged halfway through or if you set a realistic goal but with an unrealistic deadline– then you are bound to fail. Self-help speaker Jahan Kalantar has various experiences in setting a goal. Learn more from his talks.
